MESOSCALE DISCUSSION 1803 NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK 0434 PM CDT WED SEP 08 2010 AREAS AFFECTED...SE OK...NE TX CONCERNING...HEAVY RAINFALL VALID 082134Z - 082300Z HEAVY RAIN WILL BE POSSIBLE WITHIN THE MORE INTENSE RAINBANDS AND SHORT-LINE SEGMENTS ACROSS SE OK AND NE TX LATE THIS AFTERNOON. A MARGINAL TORNADO THREAT IS ALSO EXPECTED WITH THE MORE PERSISTENT ROTATING STORMS. THE TORNADO THREAT SHOULD REMAIN MARGINAL BUT WILL CONTINUE TO BE MONITORED. TROPICAL DEPRESSION HERMINE IS CURRENTLY LOCATED JUST SOUTH OF WICHITA FALLS WITH A LARGE AREA OF RAIN ACROSS THE ERN TWO-THIRDS OF OK EXTENDING SWD INTO NE TX. THE RAINSHIELD IS LOCATED ALONG A CORRIDOR WHERE ABUNDANT MOISTURE IS LOCATED WITH OBJECTIVE ANALYSIS SHOWING PRECIPITABLE WATER VALUES IN THE 2.25 TO 2.5 INCH RANGE.
